God is reality and not an illusion

“Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”
He said to them in reply,
“An evil and unfaithful generation seeks a sign.

Today’s Readings talk about obedience to God’s Words the Faith. Faith is the Helmet of Salvation and protects us from all hammers of the Evil People. Faithful people and humble people hope in God’s mercy and power despite of all odd situations. The unfaithful or Proud people who do not believe in God’s mercy and power seek for miracles and wonders in their life. God is not a magician who turns all our desires in to reality but God is love and turns all our desires according his Will or what is good for us.

In the first reading, we see the Israelites are in panic in fear of the Egyptians but the Lord tells them not to fear and be still and see the glory of God. Being still and not to fear or panic despite of all awkward situations is real Faith.  In the Gospel, the scribes and Pharisees do not believe Jesus message but look for signs and Wonders. Their intention to trick Jesus and declare him as a false teacher but Jesus understands their evil heart and calls them Worse than the people of Nineveh who were one Hundred percent Evil. Also, a gentile Queen, who was a Witch or a Sorcerer who believed the Word of God was compared of better of the Current generation.

What about us today’s generation? Are we better of these generation of Nineveh or Sheba or Israel ? What is Jesus to us? Is Jesus is our Master who understands us  and turns our lives, what is good for our Salvation or is he a genie  who turn our Wishes as we wish them according to our Wish.  Our God has the power to make miracles but he will do it to glorify his name and power so that people may believe in him and be saved from the Evil World. Miracles are an invitation to the Kingdom of God and foretaste or samples of the Kingdom of God but they themselves are not Heaven . The miracles pass by and again we are in the same old reality and if we expect the miracles to happen again and again , then there is something wrong in us. We need to go beyond these miracles and believe in the miracle Worker Jesus. Every miracle glorifies God and invites others to the Kingdom of God. Once we are with Jesus , we do not need any miracles because we have Jesus in us the ultimate heaven in this Earth and all  Power  given to us to make same miracles for the glory of God.
