USCCB Podcast of the Readings:

“Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.”
He said, “Come.”
Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus.
But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened;
and, beginning to sink, he cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught him,
and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
After they got into the boat, the wind died down.
Those who were in the boat did him homage, saying,
“Truly, you are the Son of God.”

Faith & Humbleness takes us to God face to face to Worship him and love him.

Today we see how the meek and faith filled people see God face to face on this Earth. Peter and Moses were the great personalities in the Bible. What made these people great? Did they seek money or possession or education or positions in this World? No these men were of strong faith and humble in heart. For people of faith and humble in heart God reveals his mysteries, in fact he reveals himself to them. For others, he comes as a mystery or in riddles or in a parable or through difficulties of their life. If we are not understanding what is happening to us in our life, immediately we need to come in to our Knees and humble ourselves by trusting him fully in those situations. The disciples, Miriam and Aron failed to understand and came to trouble and sinned against the Lord. But Peter and Moses showed humbleness and faith in God and  recognised him in that difficult situation and there was a transformation of the situation in to their favour. The Latter recognised the Holiness of God and Worshiped him.

Miriam was a great Woman Chosen by God to save Moses as a Child and help him throughout his mission to reach the chosen place. Aron was the other Brother of Moses to help him in his mission. The whole Family of Moses, God chooses to serve him. In their relationship with God, Miriam compares her faith with Moses and questions God’s Wisdom. This is Spiritual pride and normally comes to people who grow in their adult stage of spirituality. Miriam was struck or cleansed with White Leprosy which was a sign of uncleanliness and spiritual childishness and cured her at Moses intercession. We see many a time spiritual people struck with various troubles in their life and this is one of the reason God wants to make them realise that there is more faith and humbleness required in their life to see God face to face. This is process of Spiritual Cleansing or purging out all the evil from our hearts so that we can see him as he is. If we do not realise the trouble in our life , the troubles increase day by day and God invites us through these situations to understand him and believe in him with Courage and Humble heart. Faith and Humbleness is must and must in a spiritual journey to encounter God and intercede to him.  These kind of intercessors God wants in today’s World. Moses and Peter were great intercessors who made mighty miracles through their intercessions because they had God’s heart and whatever they interceded was from God himself.

Let us become intercessors like Moses and Peter and do mighty miracles in the name of our Lord. All kind of doubts, living in fear, complaining, Criticizing, giving names, Gossiping and comparing ourselves superior to others bring trouble and difficulties in our life.   Let us overcome all these things by trusting our Lord, as our Lord and Master of our life and he will take care of us as his Children and grant us our hearts desire and make us mighty people of Faith like Moses and Peter.
