The World can be ruled only through the Wisdom of God

“Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah.
For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter,
and upon this rock I will build my church,
and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven.
Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven;
and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

In today’s readings, we see the wisdom of God is manifested to human. Through the Wisdom the human becomes knowledgeable and understanding and discerning to rule and govern the World. Jesus came in to this World to remove us from slavery of Sin and establish a Kingdom of Freedom. Jesus gives his authority or Wisdom to his successor Peter who accessed this authority through faith. If we see Peter’s entire life with Jesus is a testimony of Faith. When man tries to access God or believe in him, God reveals himself to him and makes him like him.

Man, by himself cannot seek God but requires the grace of God to seek him. Grace is like a light or torch which searches the truth. We can obtain this grace through our relationship with God like prayer and listening to the Word of God. Peter did this in his life. He had a close relationship with Jesus and listened attentively and responded in his own understanding.  In return God reveals himself the greatest mystery of this Earth the Christ to Peter. This revelation followed by a Commission and authority. Jesus passes on his authority to Peter and his successors.

Why did Jesus form the Church and not a Political Kingdom? Jesus was the Prince of Peace and not a Political leader. The political and financial institutions are supposed to submit their authority to the Church. The Church has a final say in this World as per today’s Gospel readings. So, is our Church is dominating Church? Jesus Church is a servant Church. Those who submit to the Church of Jesus become the Servants of God and each other.

We see in the medieval period the Church lost its Servant nature and hence there were divisions in the Church. The political powers took over the position of Peter and declared themselves as the Successors of Christ. The Servant King becomes a Political King and hence the passed-on message of Christ diluted or manipulated to the human gain. Today’s readings clearly say whatever is bound by the Word of God in this Earth will be bound in heaven. The institutions or the Political parties which go against the Word of God lose the Wisdom of God and cannot stand against the Evil. This is happening in most of our time. Human education or Knowledge or research how advanced it may be, if it does not contain the Wisdom of God or as per the Word of God , it is foolish and filthy in Spiritual context. If any institution built on the Word of God will remain forever and there will be no forces of Evil can win over these institutions. These institutions are none other than the institutions who care for others, serve others, love others, forgive others and God himself is their Provider and Master.

Today let evaluate our lives. Have we built a relationship with Jesus? Has Jesus revealed himself to us personally?  Have we been Commissioned with a ministry and authority? Are part of any Christian ministry? Are we ministers in our own Churches? Do we contribute to the Church? If our answer is Yes then we are in the Kingdom of Jesus otherwise it is a time to begin our lives with Jesus.
