Have in you the same attitude
that is also in Christ Jesus,
Who, though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God
something to be grasped.
Rather, he emptied himself,
taking the form of a slave,
coming in human likeness;
and found human in appearance,
he humbled himself,
becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.

Today’s readings talk about following Jesus in Words and Deeds or imitation of Christ. The word of God says if any righteous person loses his righteous ways and lives a self-righteous life he cannot enter the Sheepfold of Jesus.  The attitudes of Jesus are the Beatitudes of the Gospel and if anyone lives in his own ideas or self-made rules or seeks self-perfection or worldly success goes against the Will of God. The self-righteousness was a major sickness of the Past and present which blocks people to receive the light of the Gospel in their lives. The Gospel of Christ opens the door to the Spirit of God and the Spirit of God leads us to the Kingdom of God.  The self-righteous people are hidden in the pretext of Holy people or so called good people in our Society, Family, Church and Nation.  To test their authenticity as a true follower of Christ we have to see their Fruits, Love, Peace, Charity, forgiveness, Humility, meekness so on. Normally the people who do things for themselves or the end motive is self-gain and not to help others are the people of self-righteousness.  The Gospel of Christ brings fruits of Love and Charity but Gospel of the World brings self-righteousness, selfishness, self-love, self-pride, Ego, attitudes, greed so on.

When we read today’s readings we must go bit beyond the meeting point or Gospel of the future. In the first reading Prophet Ezekiel speaks on God’s ways. God’s ways are not human ways and they are always just and fair. When man encounters God, there is transformation of the Heart and the darkness of the Heart disappears and Spirit of God dwells in our heart and lives with us in the day today with Gospel Beatitudes. The Beatitudes of Jesus are the checkmate or reflections to examine our lives.  Jesus went through and lived these Beatitudes in his life and we also must go through similar kind of Challenges till the end of our life. If we give up in between due to the Worldly temptations to gather,  we remain and die like Worldly People and normal animals of this Earth ,but if we enjoy the life of Christ and die in his values we will be in his Sheepfold in the Kingdom of God. There is no other Short cut way to heaven. The intercessors let me remind you, unless we become one with him in his suffering of mind , body and soul we cannot enter the Kingdom of God. Even the intercessors and Cloistered religious who pray in isolation have to go through these Beatitudes in their day today life. If we read the Biography St. Teresa of Little Flower of Jesus or  St, Faustina of Divine Mercy Devotion we will come to know that they had to go though in their Convent life very life of Jesus life and death of Calvary. There is not only suffering but gifts . fruits   , joy , miracles and ecstasies in the life of Jesus. This is a very interesting life with lots of thrills and adventures normally Children like to Enjoy. We must think that we are young Children of God and in fact we are ,Let us imitate the life of Jesus and walk with him in Spirit , mind and body.
