Immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be mentioned among you,
as is fitting among holy ones,
no obscenity or silly or suggestive talk, which is out of place,
but instead, thanksgiving.
Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person,
that is, an idolater,
has any inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God.

Immorality and Idolatry are two sins in the old testament which God hated and separated them from the Chosen place of God. Idolatry breaks the first three Commandments and Immorality breaks rest of the seven Commandments of God. when we break all ten Commandments we walk out from the presence of God in to a place of Exile and Captivity. St.Paul says an Immoral and Idolater can not possess the Kingdom of God either o this Earth or after our death.

Holiness is a decision and a way of life which we need to cultivate with the grace of God. We see many committed Communities take a Vow of Prayer, Chastity, Poverty , Obedience, Stability so on . All these commitments help us to be Holy in our lives but if we follow these Commitments for obligation then the purpose of this Vows do not meet the purpose of Holiness and we live a life in theory and there is no love or holiness emerging from these commitments. All obligations lead us to immorality and Idol Worship .An act of Obligation is an act of duplicity or double minded or unfaithfulness which is a grave Sin of unfaithfulness in the pretext of Holiness. The Pharisees and Jewish Lawyers used to live a life of Obligations but the love and Holiness was completely missing in their life.

Christians are transformed people in Gods love and the Spirit of God leads them in their daily life. The obligatory Vows disciplines a person from outside but from inside the person remains the same. I have visited some of the Christian Communities , the 50 year members have the same attitude of Greed, Selfishness, Gossip, Lust, Gluttony so on , this is immorality and Idolatry. Mother Theresa Community was a balanced community which lived a Vows of love and Service , the vow of poverty was not just from outside but lived practically from inside and thus Beatitudes of Christ resembled in them.

Families and Societies must come out of the Law of obligation and measure our morality with the Law of love and service. Law and obligations keeps people in Bondage of idolatry and immorality but the Spirit of God delivers us from every Bondage. When we take the written Word of God in literally and interpret in worldly standard we come in to error but when we ask the Lord the mysteries of that Word in Prayer , reflections and apply in our life ,the Kingdom of God the life in Ba-attitudes opens in this present age and age to come.

Prayer : Lord Jesus anoint me with the Spirit of truth.Amen.
